No bodies around

A wise man is never less alone than when he is alone.
- Jonathan Swift

You really think a small round pellet or some fluid pushed into your veins through a sharpened needle will ward off disease and death. You really think you are alone unless another body is with you.
It is insanity that thinks these things.

Beauty and Source

We ascribe beauty to that which is simple; which has no superfluous parts; which exactly answers its end; which stands related to all things; which is the mean of many extremes.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

====

I find this great. Especially the last half, those three statements are extremely deep.

... "which stands related to all things"... You will notice this says that beauty is holistic. Beauty gives a hint of The All. Of Source. of Truth.

I've always felt this myself, and although I have tried for 40 years, I have yet to explain it: that when we experience beauty, it is on some level an experience of the light of Source.

To stimulate thinking

I’ve come to view the quotes, and perhaps even writing in general, as being more valuable in simply stimulating the reader’s own thinking than in disseminating precise truths, if those exist.

Be an opener of doors

Be an opener of doors.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

I think this short, simple sentence holds an immensely powerful direction for life.
And what's more, it's one of the few sayings which can be almost universally applied.

Every player in the great game of this universe has his role to play, and every role contributes to the rolling forth of the universe and the eventual goal it has.
But I feel that as each person progresses, he/she will find that more and more he appreciates and feels the importance of Opening Doors rather than closing them or guarding them.

It is not a trivial game. While many doors are easy and fun to open, many are difficult even to find, and more difficult yet to open, and opening them may be accompanied by trouble, fear, pain...

But each opened door is a step forward, and when the last door is open, the Universe is Holy and Done.

Rock bottom

"When there is nothing left but God, that is when you find out that God is all you need." - Unknown

There are only two ways out: through the rock roof, or through the rock bottom. In the big space inbetween, you still think you have fun, or at least have a chance of it.
